March 2011 — To help local contractors make critical business development decisions and contract pursuit decisions, Huntsville-based BID-Designs launched its first-ever Empowering Business Conference March 8-9, 2011 at The Ledges drawing over 90 participants representing over 50 local federal government contractors and several non-local.

The conference, the first of its kind in Huntsville, is designed to allow federal government contractors learn more about how to pursue winnable proposals; how to build teaming arrangements and increase work share; how to improve business development efficiency; how to improve the proposal evaluation and development process. Participants were able to choose up to six of 18 interactive sessions over the two-day event covering proposal management and processes, writing, making effective bid decisions, implementing capture strategies, and strategic planning.
